I was kind of expecting it given all the hint-dropping throughout the comic and especially this story about the creator’s leftist sympathies. Capitalism is rarely portrayed well — the petit bourgeoisie like Semira sometimes get off okay, but usually only when they’re genuinely hard-working and do not lord their power over workers. (The scorpion scalpers, for instance, were not sympathetic)
