Actually, Randy’s “failings” seem more like calculated missteps intended to keep fairies from causing too much damage. As far as I’m aware, Randy has only prevented them from forcing children into a social contract that they might not fully understand, and stopped Bridget from torturing other children. Randy seems to hold truer to the prime directive than her colleagues who are constantly trying to influence the development of a less advanced civilization.
She also failed to market the intangibles for the Xmas push, and was responsible for Blank Ball winners getting a free wish, among various other things I can’t recall off the top of my head.
