Nikol points at the coach driver, who she identifies to Roger. Causing Roger to ask the driver about his sister.
Nikol: Roger, he’s the wagon driver!
Driver: Hey, you’re the one who chased that miscreant onto my coach.
Roger: What happened to my sister!?
When the driver is confused, the guard, Officer Walleye, steps in to introduce himself.
Driver: Sister? Who’s that–?
Walleye: You must be Msss Miyomi and Msster Hale. I’m Offisser Waleye. Hillatown ssent word you might be coming.
Roger: Yeah, that’s us– What about my sister!?
Walleye breaks it to Roger that they have not captured the kidnapper or recovered his sister.
Walleye: I’m afraid we have yet to recover your sister. As Mr. Toress was just telling me, the suspect had him drop her off at a manor outsside of town.
Roger guesses which place Walleye is talking about. Walleye is surprised at Roger’s deductive acumen.
Roger: Palais de La D’Ucar?
Walleye: Indeed! Your reputation as a detective is well-earned.
